12 Days of Giving Secret Santa Tags

Looking for a Secret Santa idea?  Twelve Days of Giving is a great idea.  My sister and I got the idea from an article in the November, 2004 PaperCrafts magazine.  We did this for our aunt and uncle and they had no idea until we presented them with the final gift on Christmas Day.  Actually because of a snow storm, we presented them with days 10 - 12 on Christmas.  Their daughter and our oldest sister knew right away who the gifts were coming from when they were told about the homemade bread.  It was fun to do but a bit stressful sneaking up to their house, ringing the doorbell and running so they wouldn't see us.  On day six we had to get their neighbor involved.  They didn't see the pop when they picked up their morning newspaper so we went to the neighbor and asked that they call  to tell them there was a package on the front porch.  We told them if our aunt and uncle asked to tell them they saw a guy in red leave it for them.  We were afraid the pop would freeze and explode if left out in the freezing cold too long.

If you want to do this, you need to hurry and start this on December 14 so that the last gift is given on Christmas Day.

A loaf of homemade bread

Two rolls of tape

Three boxes of Jello - red, green and yello

Five treats of sweets (I don't remember what we gave)

Six cans of pop (yes we call it pop in Ohio)

Seven apples

Eight cookies

A pack of gum

Ten eggs

A turkey (We gave them a turkey breast)

Twelve fruits (I don't remember what we gave)

All twelve tags

These tags were made in 2004 so I don't have the specifics on the stamps, but I believe all stamps were CTMH.

More Nature's Blooms from Anthony's Paper Craft

I am so excited to share this card with you. I actually made two of these cards. One I gave to Anthony to display at the shows he does for his line of stamps Anthony's Paper Crafts. The other is a display sample for The Embellished Scrapbook Boutique.

I have been using the oval accordion die and the flourish frame die from Elizabeth Craft Designs quite a bit and I knew that Anthony's stamps would be perfect with these dies.

I am not good with coloring detailed stamps but I just had to give it a shot with these stamps. I used the magic colored pencil technique which uses Prisma pencils and Gamsol. With all the die cutting, stamping, coloring and assembling, these samples took me about 6 hours each. I am very pleased with how this project turned out.

Supplies used:
Anthony's Paper Crafts Narcissus, Gladiolus, Day Lillies, Morning Glory, Sunflowers, Blackeyed Susan
Elizabeth Craft Designs Oval Accordion Die, Flourish Frame Die
Prisma pencils
Gamsol

Happy Stamping!

Introducing Anthony's Paper Craft

I would like to introduce you to a new line of stamps called Anthony's Paper Craft. Anthony is a fellow teacher of mine at The Embellished Scrapbook Boutique. His stamps just came onto the market this past summer and there are currently around 45 stamps available on his website. I was able to see the cards in his gallery in person at a crop in November and let me tell you they are fantastic. As usual, pictures don't do them justice.

I had a chance to use the Black Eyed Susan stamp recently and this is what I came up with:

I just random stamped, colored with Copic markers then used glossy accents on the centers of the flowers.

Carol made a great card with Anthony's Gladiolus stamp so I'm sure you will see it posted here soon.

Please check out the great stamps at Anthony's Paper Craft.

Supplies used:

Stamps: Anthony's Paper Craft Black-eyed Susan, Sayings Set
Copic Markers
Spellbinders Oval dies
Glossy Accents

Happy Stamping!

iPhone 5s Case Insert Template

I recently purchased a clear iPhone case from Amazon with the intentions of making my own insert for the back. I found a template online that I could download and cut out. Instead, I decided to try designing my own template with my Silhouette Cameo. I have had my Cameo for a year and have not really used it. I am determined to use it more so tonight I played with it for awhile and was able (with several adjustments) make a template that I am happy with.

It was simple to make this template using the rounded rectangle drawing tool. It just took awhile to tweak the size and get the camera opening positioned correctly. I did have to cut just a smidgen from the bottom and right side. Now I need to go through my paper stash and cut some more inserts.

I would like to share my template, but I don't know how to upload it to this blog. If anyone is interested, email me at doubleccreations at gmail dot com and I can see if I can email it to you. It is a Silhouette file.

Supplies used:
Graphic 45 Botanical Tea
