More Christmas cards

This year I made some Christmas cards to give as a gift to my in-laws on Thanksgiving. I am sorry these photos are so dark. I trusted my husband, the "expert" photo taker, to take the pictures since he says he always does a better job than I do. I did not know he did not bother to to use a flash for these pictures. He will usually take a couple pictures, one with the flash and one without. I guess he didn't think that was important for my pictures.  Grrr!

When I saw this card on Thinking Inking, I knew I wanted to CASE it. I am trying to use up old paper in my stash so I found a pack of SU! Ski Slope that I bought a couple years ago and never opened. I love the little rusty jingle bells that Debbie used on her card but I didn't have any plus I wanted a card that was easy to mail.

Supplies used:

Stamps: PTI In the Meadow and Background Basics Twinkle
Ink: CTMH chocolate, PTI Vintage Touch Chamomille
Paper: SU! Ski Slope
Other: The Essential Glue pad, glitter, red grosgrain ribbon

This is another card that I CASEd. I saw this card on Simply Stamped and knew I wanted to make it. I thought it needed more color so I just added the little cardinals in the tree.

Supplies used:

Stamps: PTI In the Meadow
Inks: CTMH chocolate, topiary
Other: PTI In the Meadow dies, diamond dust

This last card is my own creation. I wanted to use PTI's Nativity Silhouettes and decided to use the same layout as I did for the first card.

Supplies used:

Stamps: PTI Nativity Silhouettes
Paper: SU! Ski Slope
Inks: CTMH chocolate, holiday red, buttercup
Other: The Essential Glue pad, glitter, CTMH cranberry grosgrain ribbon, PTI Nativitiy Silhouettes dies

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Cards - ODBD

I love this stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs Worship the Lord set.  The above cards are a couple that I sent out for Christmas.  The sky was sponged with outdoor denim ink. Stickles was used on the snow on the church. I sponged chai tea and chamomile inks around the newsprint and on the faux crochet border.  On the second card I sponged vintage cream around the card and the kraft border across the center.

I made seven of these cards for gift baskets for the Women's Gathering at my church, The Chapel. Stickles was used for the snow in the sky and liquid applique for the snow on the church, trees and ground.

This card is just an extra one that I made. On this one, the church was stamped on an oval then cut out and glued to a blue oval the same size. Liquid applique was used on the snow on the church and the ground

Supplies:
Stamp - Our Daily Bread Designs Worship the Lord
Paper - Hollo's white, blue, beet, CTMH ponderosa pine and New England ivy, PTI kraft
Spellbinders - oval, layered pointsettia, scalloped oval, labels two
Die-namics faux crochet die
Martha Stewart pine branch punch and doily lace border punch
Cuttlebug embossing folders - polka dot, holly ribbons
Copic markers
Ink - CTMH outdoor denim, PTI vintage cream, chai tea and chamomile
Paper - My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas Holly
Liquid Applique
Diamond stickles

Christmas Cards - Mo's Digital Pencil

These are a couple of Christmas cards I sent out. Both of these cards used the Ragged Carolers from Mo's digital Pencil.  I colored the images with Copic markers.  The music notes and sentiments are from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Christmas Caroler.  I sponged the background with Papertrey Ink's chai tea and chamomile inks then stamped the snowflakes from Papertrey's In the Meadow set using Stampin Up!'s white craft ink. I embossed the blue behind the girl with SU's Petals A Plenty embossing folder and the boy with Sizzix Snowflake folder.  On the boy background I lightly sponged the snowflakes with SU white ink. I used red stickles to put berries on the wreaths.

Supplies:
Stamps - Mo's Digital Pencil Ragged Carolers, My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Christmas Caroler and Papertrey Ink In the Meadow
Paper - Papertrey kraft, Hollo's blue, beet and cream
Copic markers
Embossing Folders - SU Petals A Plenty, Sizzix Snowflakes
Inks - SU white craft, Mementos black and rich cocoa
Red stickles
Spellbinders - circle, rectangle and scalloped rectangle

Poinsettia Tag

I created this tag as a sample for The Embellished Scrapbook Boutique.  It went together very fast.

I used a precut tag and attached the patterned paper.  Went around the paper with chai tea ink.  Used chai tea and vintage cream on the Die-Namics border and desert sand on the Fleur de Lis die.  Stamped the sentiment in vineyard berry ink.

For the poinsettia I cut and embossed two each of the smallest and second smallest poinsettia dies from Hollo's beet paper and one of the second smallest from CTMH ponderosa pine.  I punched seven pine branches.  The pearls I colored with a Copic marker. Before putting together the poinsettia, I turned each piece over and added dimension with an empressor tool.

Supplies

My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas Holly Paper
CTMH Ponderosa Pine Paper

Pure Innocence Shadow Box

We created this shadow box as a Christmas gift for one of our friends.  She is a fan of My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamps (and so are we).  This was a fun project to create.

We started off by painting the shelf with a couple coats of black acrylic paint then spray sealing it when it was dry.  The cardstock squares were then applied with Modge Podge with one coat underneath and two coats on top.

Each girl was stamped on a white square, colored with copic markers then paper-pieced with patterned paper.  They were then glued on to a piece of chipboard and cut out after dried. Foam squares were placed on the back then put into the frames.

The wording was done on the computer (fonts Arial Narrow and Pea Alicia Script) then printed out on cream cardstock. A die was used to cut it out.  A glue pen was used to trace around the edge of the cut out then glitter was adhered.  Foam squares were placed on the back then put into the frame.  The dog has a double layer of foam squares so that it is popped higher than the die.  The crystals were attached with liquid glass.

Supplies:
Shadow box from Dollar Tree
black acrylic paint
spray matte sealer
CTMH paper - crystal blue, sweet leaf, seafoam, cranberry, buttercup, autumn terracotta, indian corn blue, shell pink
Modge Podge - matte
Crystals
Pure Innocence stamps - Being Cute is What I Do, I Get a Kick Out of You, Christmas Stocking Girl, Out on a Limb, Feeling Froggy, Popping By, Christmas Caroler, dog from Snow Adorable
MFT Die-Namics Framed Greetings die
Basic Grey Picadilly 6x6 pad
chipboard
glitter
foam squares
CTMH liquid glass
