Dog Sympathy

A couple weeks ago, a former neighbor posted on Facebook that their boxer Roxi died. Roxi was such a sweet dog. She used to jump the fence to come see my bichon Chloe.

I made this card to send to Roxi's family:

Stamps: JustInkLined digi
Paper: American Craft
Accessories: Prismacolor pencils, ribbon, Nestabilities, rhinestone, Sizzix EF

I used this picture my friend posted of Roxi to help me color the digi stamp:

Goodbye sweet Roxi!

90 Candles

On Saturday we attended a 90th birthday party for our Uncle Charles. Since a 90th birthday is such a milestone, I wanted to make a card that was more than just a birthday card. I found this card on Splitcoaststampers for inspiration. Since it was only a couple days before the party and this was a big card, Carol and I worked on it together. We both did the pages with the candles which surprisingly went rather quickly. The next day I worked on the front of the card and left the last page for Carol to do.

We made an accordian card with a total of 10 inside panels (6"x6"). On nine of the panels we put 10 candles (3"x7/16") each, repeating the same pattern on each panel.

Every other panel has the words to "Happy Birthday" printed from the computer and music notes on the opposite panels.

The front and last panel we cut out the words, numbers and stars from the Cricut.

Because the card was too thick to put in a regular square envelope, we put it in one of the clear boxes that Papertrey stamp sets are packaged in. (Thanks to our friend Paula for the idea!) It fit perfectly. We decorated it with twine and a tag that said "Happy Birthday Uncle Charles." (Sorry no picture.)

This would be a great card to do for any milestone birthday.  It was actually quick and easy to do.

It was requested that no gifts be given for the birthday party but if you wished to bring a card, it was requested to include a memory of Uncle Charles. Carol wanted me to find the picture of us on the day of our baptism with Uncle Charles, Aunt Wanda (Carol's godparents), Uncle Bob and Aunt Jean (my godparents). Unfortunately, I didn't find it in the box that I was looking through (and didn't have time to look further) but I did find a picture of both of us with Uncle Charles and Aunt Wanda on our first birthday. Carol scanned and reprinted it for us to include with the card.

Supplies:
Paper:  Basic Grey Max & Whiskers, American Craft
Flame: SU bird punch wing
Cricut: Birthday Bash, Plantin Schoolbook and ? (I'll update later with the cartridge I used for "celebrate")
Stamps: music notes from Pure Innocence caroler

Thanks for looking!
